“A familar mood of grimy electro, cheap overdriven guitars and sexual frustration pervades throughout, like a cross between Suicide, Iggy Pop and Guided by Voices. The Prick is an instrumental that cleverly sets up the low rent claustrophobia and creeping death to follow with its moody synth, colliding glacier overdrive and plaintive guitar lines briefly breaks into a sort of power pop style section before being dragged back down into gloom. Great stuff. Second track Coverup is another highlight with its totally amazing sax solo. The bleak nihilism of Hated Man disturbs,but tracks like Beachbunny and Evil Bosom demonstrate the playful (if sometimes rather black) humour that lies at the core of most of Romeo's compositons. The 2nd half of the album sees the arrangements stripped back somewhat on songs like the devastating Yes Girl & Pink Shorts, the Pixies-like Misanthropical is another highlight, in fact they're all highlights.5 Stars”
